Imagine some kid making a tape recording of himself playing the new Squire Stratocastor he got for his Bar Mitzvah while his 38 year old schizophrenic uncle sings about his mental problems. If you can imagine that, then you have a pretty good idea of what Jandek sounds like.

Little is known about this guy, but what we do know is this: he's from Texas, he's put out more records than Jesus, and his name might be Sterling Richard Smith. Jandek hardly ever tours, but he's playing The Basement on October 30th. You might not like his music, but at least you can say you saw him.
